SKID CAR TRAINING COURSE

An intensive, professional training course suitable for anyone who can drive a car. With three drivers to one instructor, the hands-on time is high and the course is great fun. We can even offer courses for drivers who do not yet hold a licence, but they must be comfortable with the controls and able to drive without instruction. We are the skid training provider of choice for public services, companies and concerned individuals around the country.

 

WHAT WILL I BE DRIVING? 

 

State-of-the-art SKID CAR using computerised technology to produce real skids in complete safety. You drive an ordinary saloon car especially equipped with a hydraulic cradle to simulate all types of road conditions. The road surface is unaltered by chemicals or powders leaving you clean and dry, and to ensure the courses are not cancelled due to rain. You will drive a family-sized saloon car, currently a Ford Mondeo 2 litre.

Fully-trained professional SKID CAR instructors who understand how to get the best from your driving. With the instructor alongside you at all times you can drive with confidence as you learn new skills. Your course will be tailored to your personal learning.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Your course includes:

Understanding how skids occur

Recognising and controlling front wheel skids

Recognising and controlling rear wheel skids

Recognising and controlling four wheel skids

Minimising the risk of skidding

Effective use of cadence braking and ABS stopping techniques

 

All drivers receive a SKID CAR certificate as a memento of their day

HOW LONG DOES THE COURSE LAST?

 

A course with three drivers will last between 2.5 and 3 hours. You will spend most of this time in the car, learning from the other drivers as well as your own performance.  

 

When deciding where to take your skid control tuition, ask the organiser how long you get behind the wheel and whether the instructor is beside you. With larger classes, it is impossible to receive the personal tuition you are offered at The Actiondrome.

 

WHEN ARE THE COURSES?

 

"Just me!" - Courses are run on Saturdays and you will join with others to make a group of 3 drivers

"The two of us" - We can open up a course on any day of the week subject to availability

"Three's company" - With a group of 3 or more drivers we will operate an exclusive course on any day of the week.
